Linkages and International Collaboration

Executive Secretary NBTE Prof. Idris M BugajeEmpowering Technical Education Through Global Collaboration

We're excited to share our journey of collaboration and innovation, shaping the future of technical education. Our efforts range from impactful workshops to strategic partnerships with industry leaders.

The INNOVATE8 Workshop is a prime example, fostering innovation among Polytechnic faculty to address real-world challenges. Meanwhile, partnerships with Huawei and Cisco provide faculty with advanced training and resources, ensuring they stay ahead in technology.

Projects like Skill G and the China-Africa Vocational Education Alliance enhance access to modern equipment and global perspectives, enriching the learning experience. Similarly, collaborations with RIKESD and Sharptech Engineering bridge academia and industry, promoting practical skills and entrepreneurship.

These initiatives reflect our commitment to excellence in technical education, driving innovation and empowering students for the future.

Introducing the Nigeria Polytechnics Foundation (NIPOF)

The Nigeria Polytechnics Foundation (NIPOF), a registered entity with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), is a pioneering initiative focused on revitalizing Polytechnic education in Nigeria. NIPOF addresses the critical challenges facing Polytechnic Institutions to elevate them to global standards of excellence. Our mission is to drive academic innovation, enhance Institutional capacity, foster Industry collaboration, and establish International partnerships to transform the educational landscape in Nigeria.

Our Core Objectives

  • Enhance Academic Excellence:
Forge partnerships and collaborations to introduce innovative teaching methods, foster cutting-edge research, and facilitate knowledge exchange.
  • Strengthen Institutional Capacity:
Invest in staff development, upgrade essential infrastructure—including laboratories, workshops, and power supply—and strategically allocate resources for robust Institutional growth.
  • Promote Industry Collaboration:
To ensure job-ready graduates, curricula should align with Industry needs, provide hands-on learning opportunities, and encourage student entrepreneurship.
  • Advance Skills Development:
Collaborate with local and International Industry leaders to enhance the skills training offered in Polytechnics, ensuring students are well-prepared for the workforce.
  • Secure Grants:
Actively seek funding to support staff and student research, drive innovation projects, and commercialize viable innovations that contribute to Nigeria's socio-economic development.

The Foundation shall also facilitate the collection and distribution of donations of foreign-used laboratory and workshop equipment that can still be useful in Nigerian Polytechnics.

  • Facilitate Internationalization:
To elevate the global competitiveness of Nigeria's polytechnics, we will build partnerships with foreign Institutions, participate in exchange programs, and pursue International accreditation.
